Maryam Khosravi, Fatemeh Jami, and Masoumeh Azhini remain imprisoned in Gorgan. Khosravi has been sentenced to more than two years in prison, while Jami and Azhini continue to face prolonged legal uncertainty weeks and months after their arrests.Khosravi, a mother of three, has been detained since the night of Chaharshanbe Suri, the traditional fire festival held before the Persian New Year. According to information received, she has been sentenced to a total of two years and three months in prison in the case brought against her.Despite her months-long detention, officials have rejected requests to grant Khosravi temporary leave or allow her to serve the remainder of her sentence under electronic monitoring.Jami, an environmental activist and the mother of a 16-year-old son, was arrested at her home in Gorgan by Iran’s Cyber Police on June 30, 2026. Her arrest was linked to her online activities, particularly on Instagram, and she was formally charged at the Gorgan Prosecutor’s Office.Fifty-three days after her arrest, Jami’s case remains under investigation at the Gorgan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, and no court hearing has been held. She remains imprisoned in Gorgan without a final determination in her case.Azhini, 63, is the sister of Mahmoud Azhini, a political prisoner executed during the 1988 mass executions of political prisoners. She was arrested on April 4, 2026.She had previously been arrested in 2019 for seeking justice for her brother and spent approximately one year in Fardis Prison in Karaj. Following her release, reports indicated that she continued to face pressure, summonses, and threats from security agencies.Now, 140 days after her arrest, Azhini remains imprisoned in Gorgan amid continued legal uncertainty. According to the latest information, the Gorgan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office set bail for her temporary release, which her family secured.
